All primary childhood vaccinations are free for every child.

Tallow Family and Women’s Clinic offers a comprehensive range of vaccines including:

  • Pneumonia

  • Covid

  • Chicken Pox (course of two injections)

  • Shingles (course of two injections)

  • Whooping Cough (free to all pregnant women from 16 weeks)

  • HPV (course of three injections)

  • Meningococcal B

Some of these are not covered by the HSE and will incur a private fee. Please speak to your doctor to discuss your options.

Flu Vaccines 2023

An annual flu vaccine is strongly recommended for everyone over 65 years old, those at increased risk of influenza complications and children aged 2-12 years.

Eligible groups for the 2023/2024 Influenza Vaccine Programme include:

  • people aged 65 years and older

  • children aged 2-12 years

  • pregnant women

  • all those aged 6-23 months and 13-64 years at increased risk of influenza-related complications i.e. anyone with a chronic disease such as heart disease, diabetes, chronic liver disease, chronic renal failure, COPD, asthma, cystic fibrosis etc.

  • residents of nursing homes

  • healthcare workers

  • household contacts of people with a chronic health condition or Down syndrome

  • people in regular contact with pigs , poultry or waterfowl
